Manish Mitra wishes to paint theatre in an alternative space

Posted by Kaahon Desk On January 10, 2015

Manish Mitra talks in detail about his concept and ideas of an alternative space for theatre performances. He emphasizes on the difference between merely staging a play by ‘fitting’ it into a given space and the idea of a performance entirely born out of a space. He points out certain fundamental differences between their practice and that of Alternative Living Theatre, the latter being a loosely misused term in multiple ways. Manish believes that his theatre stands out in form and spectacle owing to his own set of skills as well as the group’s exposure to various forms, both Indian and from other countries.
