Lucky Gupta endorses for raw, direct and real theatre

Posted by Kaahon Desk On June 6, 2015

Lucky Gupta sounds quite candid and direct talking about proscenium theatre’s sense of self-esteem and tendency to look down upon any other theatre practice that doesn’t involve elaborate production values. While recognizing the entertainment value of a large-scale production, Lucky feels that their core elements are very much present in a raw and direct form in theatre practices found in the rural areas. And for Lucky, their appeal is more authentic, real and the effect is more touching. He narrates one of his own experiences to emphasize how he witnessed this just a few years back.
