The week that follows the Mahalaya is called Debi-pokhsha. The main part of Durga Puja is restricted to four days (this year, three days) only. It starts on the evening of ‘Sasthi’, the sixth day after the new moon, generally from beneath a ‘Bel’ tree for the traditional ones. In the wee hours of ‘Saptami,’ the next day, the ‘Pran’ or life of the Devi is brought from a nearby pond or river in a banana tree (Kola Bou) and established inside the image.
In all these rituals of Durga Puja the entire festival is being enthralled with different majestic rhythms of Dhak. In the second installment, the first being AGOMONI, of Durga Puja celebration Kaahon comes up with a particular rhythm called ‘PUJAR BAJNA’ which is performed throughout the festival generally.
